Frequently Asked Questions
|
| How much estimated network traffic
should I expect while using an e-Watch® camera? |
|
The answer depends on a number of factors, including the type
and quality of the MPEG stream, the refresh rate of the JPEG image, and
the purported amount of activity for the viewing area. The e-Watch® camera
has the ability to compress and transmit up to 3 simultaneous streams. The
typical configuration is as follows:
- 30fps MPEG1 Multicast at 800kbps bandwidth, 352 x 240 resolution sent
from the camera to the multicast switch or router, NOT to the server
and NOT broadcast over the network.
- 30fps MPEG1 Multicast at 128kbps bandwidth, 176 x 112 resolution sent
from the camera to the multicast switch or router, NOT to the server
and NOT broadcast over the network.
- TCP socket connection transmits JPEG images, 704 x 480 resolution,
variable frame rate, to the archive server for later review.
